Commercial for the Albert Heijn ‘Smurfs’ campaign 2008. Nice to do a traditional cartoon like this, and work with such great talents: directed by Hans Buying, storyboard by Daan Jippes, layouts/ backgrounds by Wouter Tulp!

Animation Works had a fair share in the work: Pascal Vermeersch, Digna van der Put and Arjan Wilschut animated some scenes, Nico van Biljouw did colour, camera and composit in Animo.

Animated title sequence for the children’s film Minoes.

In typical Dutch Fiep Westendorp style, Miss Minoes takes us through the opening credits in a playful manner. Minoes won several awards, including a Gouden Kalf.

A rooster detective and a dame in despair have to solve the Case of the Missing Egg ..!

Hard Boiled Chicken toured film festivals worldwide and won 7 international awards including the Ijzeren Haring, and the HAFF Moviesquad Junior award. The film also toured arthouse cinemas as a short before the documentary Our Daily Bread.

A Penguin on the South Pole tries to get his letter to Santa on the North Pole.

A short TV cartoon produced by Animation Works for S4C Wales television. The film won 2nd prizes at Anima Mundi and Interfilm Berlin, and sold multiple licences at MIPcom. It was also included in the Christmas episode of channelfrederator.com, with over a 100,000 views!

Two panels of a two-page comic strip : De Apen de Tuinman/ The Monkeys and the Gardener. It’s a fable set in India, written by Bob Evers writer Frank Jonker. The comic strip was commissioned and published by Caroline van der Lee of Groeneveld magazine. It also appeared in the June 2011 issue of P@per comics magazine.

Each scene shows possible futures for which one should be insured. These digital animations were made with Toonboom, which proved to be a perfect choice for short and snappy scenes, which could be used and re-used as jigsaw pieces to create dozens of little movies. Note: the bit with the beach chair was animated by Hans Buying.
